China Compulsory Certification, a national standard implemented in China, is called 3C or CCC certification. It is legislated by the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of the People's Republic of China (AQSIQ) and the Certification and Accreditation Administration of the People’s Republic of China (CNCA) based on the "China Compulsory Certification Regulations", announced on December 12, 2001 (the 5th mandate of AQSIQ) and enforced by the CNCA.  The certification marks of the China Commission for Conformity Certification of Electrical Equipment (CCEE) and the China Commodity Inspection Bureau (CCIB) have been abolished.

CCC is the required certification for all products imported, sold or used in the Chinese market. Only products that have been certified are found to conform to requirements pertaining to safety, electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), environmental protection, etc. CCC is a legal and compulsory safety certification that is internationally-recognized to protect consumer rights, life and property.
